Our Intensive Training Company is an advanced, pre-professional, competitive program for dancers ages 8 and up who wish to pursue a higher level of diversity and intensity training with goals of dancing professionally and/or in college. The main focus of this program is technical development, performance quality, artistry of movement and professional readiness. Dancers will attend a minimum of 9-14 hours of class per week (depending on age) in a variety of genres including: ballet, jazz technique, movement, contemporary, tap, hip-hop & choreography. Additional time for choreography sessions, rehearsals, master classes, performances, etc. will be required. Dancers will be expected to commit to the full ITC schedule/calendar from mid-August through June with no prior, conflicting commitments. *Studio Vacations and breaks are scheduled around the Jordan School District calendar.
ITC dancers will have opportunities to perform for local community events, 2-4 full studio productions and will audition to guest perform with local professional companies. They will also attend 1 local dance competition and 2 local convention/competitions & 2 “in-studio” dance conventions. Dancers will be competing 1 large group number as a whole company, 2 numbers within their leveled team and are recommended to compete a solo or trio piece.
This is a highly committed, team-based program where members will learn important life and leadership skills. We also provide social events, team-building activities and community service opportunities throughout the year.
Auditions for the 2020-2021 Intensity Training Company will be Wednesday, August 12th, 2020 by invitation or pre-assessment only. A $100 application fee, an audition waiver, and Intensive Training Company contract must all be completed before dancers can register for auditions. Dancers will be placed on teams within the ITC based on technique level, performance quality, experience, work ethic and artistry of movement.
